3D Maya Modelling

We started with a tutorial from YouTube to make a simple Barstool.2016-08-18-12016-08-18

And did the texturing for it.2016-09-20-24

Then we had to 3D model an office chair.

I started off with a simple block and resized it into shape. Then used 'Insert Edge Loop' tool equally separated to 4 parts.2016-09-19-7

Then I selected the bottom face and extruded it to make the bottom part.2016-09-19-10

And compressed the face down again to make the block thinner.2016-09-19-11

Then I used 'Insert Edge Loop' tool again but this time separated equally to 2 parts.2016-09-19-12

Then I selected each inserted edge and beveled them.2016-09-19-13

I selected the beveled face and compressed them to make the creases.2016-09-19-16

I resized the chair to fit with the size needed.2016-09-19-15

Then I made the handle, using the soft selection tool and bending it into a curve.2016-09-19-17

I did the same with the bottom part of the handle, extruding and bending it into shape.2016-09-19-18

I then positioned them together to the required shape.2016-09-19-19

And grouped them.2016-09-19-20

Then I made the chair leg with the same techniques. Using the 'Insert Edge Loop' tool, selecting faces, extruding.2016-09-19-21

I made the wheel with the same techniques too. The top part was made with bending with the soft selection tool and extruding faces. And the wheel itself is just a low poly cylinder resized into shape.2016-09-19-22

Then, I repositioned each wheel into the leg of the chair.2016-09-19-23

For the bottom air pressure of the chair, I used a low poly cylinder and selected the top face of the cylinder and extruding it.2016-09-19-24

Instead of pulling up the extruded piece, I resized it into a smaller face.2016-09-19-25

Then I extruded out the face and did the same thing for the slightly bigger piece on the top.2016-09-19-30

I then reposition everything to fit it into a chair figure.2016-09-19-312016-08-18-22016-08-18-3

And textured it.2016-09-19-32016-09-19-32

Then we had to design a weapon for Syndrome from The Incredibles.

This are my sketches for the weapon design.13412064_1026876324027880_5961345600547382821_o.jpg

After shaping a cylinder into a bullet form, I rotated it and fixed it to two pieces of blocks.2016-09-18-2

Then I formed the top part and used a soft selection tool to turn it into a point.2016-09-18-3

I then made the tube and used the mirror tool to make two of it.2016-09-18-1

The energy ball is just a simple sphere.2016-09-18-42016-08-18-52016-08-18-7

I then textured it too.2016-09-192016-09-19-2

Then we had to model a robot.

Sadly, I don't have the screen shots of the steps I took to build this.2016-09-19-332016-09-19-34

I textured this too.2016-09-19-36

I even had to model Astro Boy.2016-09-21-182016-09-21-192016-09-21-17

Lastly, I created my own robot.

I did some sketches, but my final product wasn't the exact same as my sketches.sketchesstage-design

Again, I forgot to show the process I did with the modelling, but this was a screen shot of when I was trying to texture the robot's stage.2016-09-03-1

This is the final product.2016-09-20-12016-09-20

I really liked the glow the robot gave after rendering.finals-2

Mess with an Angel
