I started off with sketching out the eye.

Then I went into more details and shading.

I tried making things darker but then realized the drawing was still too light.

So, instead of carrying on with pencils, I went straight into it with charcoal.

It was really fun playing around with charcoal and smudging. It's also very rewarding to see the drawing getting darker by the minute.

I thought I was done, until I realized that I forgot to add in the blood for the bottom lid.

So I went ahead and did more touch ups as best as I could with the frame in the way. I made the blood thicker because the top frame cropped out quite a lot of it. In the end, I am really happy with my finally product. It was my first time trying charcoal and it turned out quite well. I had a lot of fun doing this and I might try to make more artworks at home with charcoal.
